## Suihei launches worldwide on the Mac App Store: the photo-leveling app that never sees your photos — no cloud, no subscription

**Osaka, Japan** — MARGINAL GAINS INC. has released **Suihei**, a single-purpose macOS app that automatically levels crooked photos — one image at a time — and crops them to a clean rectangle with no leftover corners. Suihei has been available worldwide on the Mac App Store since July 21, 2026, localized in English and Japanese.

Suihei does two things and nothing else: rotate to horizon, and inscribe-crop. No exposure, no color, no clutter. Every photo is analyzed entirely on your Mac by a built-in AI of roughly 8.1 MB. **Your photos never leave your Mac. Not for analysis, not for “improvement,” not ever.** And there is no subscription: the first 300 exported photos are free, and a one-time $24.99 purchase unlocks exports permanently.

### The one chore that stayed manual

Suihei was born from the daily workflow of one professional photographer — a director at the company. When you deliver hundreds of frames from a shoot, every photo tilts differently — so leveling can't be batch-copied in a general-purpose editor, and straightening (plus trimming away the empty corners it creates) remains stubbornly manual work that can eat hours before delivery.

Instead of adding shallow features for a million users, Suihei was designed around one professional's real workflow — overview, per-photo fine-tuning, export — driven almost entirely from the keyboard, and refined through working feedback from that photographer. That same tool now ships worldwide, unchanged in its philosophy: **a good tool is defined less by what it can do than by what it refuses to do.**

### Key features

**Per-photo AI leveling with a zero-margin crop.** Suihei's built-in AI estimates the tilt of each photo independently — no single value forced across a batch — then crops to the largest upright rectangle that fits, leaving no transparent edges. For photos where the AI result doesn't look right, a non-AI method called Vision analyzes horizons and architectural lines with multiple detectors.

**Private by architecture, not by policy.** All processing, including the built-in AI, runs on-device and works offline. Photos are never uploaded, and the AI does not learn from your photos or edits while you use it; it was built by the developer using only the developer's own photographs. There are no analytics SDKs and no ads — Suihei's App Store privacy label is **“Data Not Collected.”**

**Fully non-destructive.** Originals are never modified. Corrected copies are written to a separate location with EXIF preserved. JPEG, HEIC, PNG, and major RAW formats are supported.

**A keyboard-first workflow, paid for once.** Nudge rotation in 0.1° steps with `[` and `]`, drag along any line in the image to snap it to the nearest axis with the leveling tool (⌘L), undo in multiple steps, and save your session. Shortcuts are fully remappable, with a Lightroom-compatible preset included. Suihei is a one-time purchase — there is no monthly fee.
